Container ship attacked in the Middle East

Published 2024-04-16

During the weekend, the container ship “MSC Aries” has been hijacked by Iranian military forces in the Strait of Hormuz. The hijacking was carried out via helicopter, a similar approach that the houthi rebels used in the beginning of the Red Sea crisis. This incident signifies an expansion of the risk area and an escalating crisis in the Middle East.

“MSC Aries” is a Portuguese-flagged vessel operated by MSC, but it is also associated with an Israeli billionaire, which could be the reason behind Iran’s actions. The ship was scheduled to travel from the Persian Gulf to India, and according to MSC, there were 25 crew members at the vessel once they were hijacked.

Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, has issued a statement urging Iran to release the ship and its international crew immediately. As of now, it appears that the crew is still aboard the vessel.

C Land Logistics do not have any cargo aboard the affected vessel. However, it’s important to note that the Hijacking and the uncertainty in the region undoubtedly impact the entire industry.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

C Land Logistics.
